by: Steve (@MisterJackal)On Friday, G4 announce that they are canceling their longest running flagship programs, Attack Of The Show and X-Play, ending production with new episodes airing through the end of the year.
“Attack of the Show! and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture,” said G4 GM Adam Stotsky. “With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close.”
What happens now? Attack and X-Play were pivotal programs that kept us all in the loop with things that mattered to a lot of us geeks. Their coverage of events like San Diego Comic Con and E3 gave the ones that weren't fortunate enough to get tickets a chance to slightly experience these them. As well as, exclusive interviews and inside looks into movies, television, gadgets and video games. No need to fret there is still hope. There is still The Electric Playground, which is similar to both Attack and X-Play and fun to watch if you can find when it airs. We can always get geek programming on the net as well through podcast, various blogs and website or YouTube. Chris Hardwick's The Nerdist Channel and Felicia Day's Geek and Sundry are two channels on YouTube that cater to all of our needs.Source: The Hollywood Reporter
