by: Charley (@ruperto2106)Halestorm brings the rock and roll back with heartfelt and personal lyrics, heavy rifts and even the obligatory rock ballet in The Strange Case Of… On their second major label release, the Pennsylvania band unleashes a masterpiece of infectious hard rock tunes as heard on the first track and lead single “Love Bites (So Do I)”, “Mz. Hyde”, “Freak Like Me” but also bring the raw emotions and heart wrenching ballads such as “Beautiful With You”, and “In Your Room”. Lizzy Hale (lead singer, guitar) even gives us a power anthem for the females with “You Call Me A Bitch Like It’s A Bad Thing”.The Strange Case Of… was produced by Grammy nominated Howard Benson (3 Doors Down, Seether, Three Days Grace) who has a strong track record working on amazing albums and this one will be another notch on his belt. On this sophomore album Lizzy shows us that her vocal range on Halestorm's first album was no fluke. The way Lizzy belts, screams, and sings, would put most male lead singers in bands to shame. Rounding out the band are Joe Hottinger (guitar), Josh Smith (bass) and Arejay Hale (Drums) who all provide their own special blend of musicianship to keep up with the power Ms. Hale.I give this album 4.5 out of 5 starts forever being a mainstay in my iPod cycle.[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmkHqUwa4zg]
