The fourth studio CD from the Florida based hard rock quartet dropped on 3/26 and starts off with a head banging inducing cut called “Adrenaline”. How can one not get pumped with lyrics like “What part of living says you gotta die, I plan on burning through another nine lives”? The band continues to kick ass through the next track which features the lead single “Bully”. It’s catchy hook of “All you’ll ever be is the faded memory of a bully… no one is going to cry on the very day you die” while powerful, will stick in your head.
The remaining CD mixes between the heavy (The aforementioned “Adrenaline”, “Bully”, along with “Nowhere Kids” and ”I’m Not Alright”) the occasional rock ballad (“l’ll Follow You” and “Through the Ghost”) and the soulful/deeply moving “Miracle”.

Brent Smith on vocals once again proves why he’s a force to be reckoned with as one can feel the passion as he performs through each track. Along with Barry Kerch on drums, Zach Myers on guitar and Eric Bass on bass (you can’t make that one up folks) Amaryllis is a perfect follow-up to the platinum Sound Of Madness and will satisfy every Shinedown fan. With a lot of great tracks I give Amaryllis 4 out of 5 stars.
