This week in theaters, Jim, Michelle, Finch, Kevin, Vicky, Oz, Heather, Jim's dad and Stifler are all back in the latest installment to the American Pie franchise, American Reunion. If you can't really tell by title, this movie is based around the Class of '99 high school reunion. American Reunion is written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, best known for the Harold & Kumar series, bring us a great addition to the series that has entertained many people for over a decade.
Watching the original cast come back was so much fun! Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Sean William Scott (yes... I did run through most of the cast again) all made Reunion such a fun watch. Much like the other films in the series, this is one doesn't fall behind at all and brings the raunchiness and awkward moments we have loved since '99. There is also a lot of focus on relationships, past loves lost, and just growing up, things that for a person like myself, have been a part of my life since I saw the original. Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler's mom) and Eugene Levy (Jim's dad), even though their roles aren't as big, they give great comedic performances and some memorable moments.As a fan, this movie was full of nostalgia and made me feel like I was part of it, being that I have grown and had similar experiences through the whole series. (Minus the viral video and the trumpet) Besides the fact that I have been a huge fan of the series, American Reunion is definitely worth watching.
